Banwari Sahu Mahavidyalaya is a leading institution of Jharkhand’s District of Latehar region that is consistently working in the field of higher education . It is not only the oldest institution but has been the only centre for Graduate education prior to the establishment of new Nilamber Pitamber University in Medininagar. It is recognized by UGC under section 2(f) since 2011 and follows the National Curriculum of UGC in all faculties and disciplines. The college is acrredited by the NAAC with ‘B’ Grade. The college offers Degree (Hons. & Pass) Courses in almost all subjects of Arts and Commerce and General Courses in all Subjects .

The college is located in the Latehar Jharkhand and is spread in area of 7.17 acres equipped with beautiful greenery, good infrastructure and facilities. There are additional facilities of IGNOU study center, and Jharkhand state open University within the campus. The nearest railway station is Latehar.
